Vintage Opal Emerald Ring In Art Nouveau Style
Pretty and charming vintage opal and emerald ring in Art Nouveau style.
She was crafted around 1940-1960 and is hallmarked with 18K for 18 karat gold. Her design is romantic and feminine, with a very flattering shape. Her decorations echo the Art Nouveau organic, floral vibe. The pretty, natural opal is of Australian origin, with lovely flashes of blues, purples, greens and yellows with pink and orange undertones. Its rainbow colours are accentuated by the brightness of the intense green of the emeralds in the shoulders. The emeralds are natural and of truly stunning colour. They are square cut, and display one tiny chip and slight rubbing to their facets, all consistent with the ring's age and visible only with a strong jewellers loupe. The shank of the ring has beautiful, fluted shape. All in all, a lovely attention to detail and quality, and so very pretty and feminine in buttery yellow gold.
She weighs 5 grams and is a size US 5 1/8 - 5 1/4 or UK K- K 1/2 at the moment. She can be sized up or down and is in great vintage condition. The opal in its bezel setting measures 11.3 by 9.1 mm. The ring's face measures 11.4 mm north to south, it stretches 18 mm across your finger, up to the outer edge of the flared shoulders. The band at the back is 2.4 mm wide and the ring sits 4.7 mm of the top of your finger. In lovely vintage condition.
This ring looks lovely on its own or worn with other rings. It would make a perfect pinky ring and also a fabulous engagement ring with a difference.
