Vintage Natural Sapphire Platinum Charm Pendant Dangler

This charm is all about the magical cornflower blue sapphire. 

The gem has been checked by FGA qualified gemologist and it is a natural sapphire. The pendant was crafted around 1980-1990, entirely in platinum. It features a simple four prong setting. It is not hallmarked, hence we tested it to confirm the precious metal content.

The oval sapphire is estimated to weigh 1.95 carats and measures 8.15 by 6.37. The stone looks to cut be earlier than the 1980's , we think that it dates to the middle of the 20th century. It has a small internal flaw on the underside of it and a tiny sliver of a chip on top right of the front, both visible only with a strong jewellers loupe. These small imperfections are reflected in the price of the pendant. The sapphire has a beautiful, cornflower blue colour and a great brilliance and sparkle to it. 

Including the bale the pendant measures 14 mm in total length. It weighs 1.4 grams and is in lovely vintage condition. The pendant is small enough to be used as a charm but looks equally good on a chain. A most gorgeous gift for a silver wedding anniversary, a September Birthday or a special "something blue" for your wedding day.
