Vintage English 9K Gold Opal Ring

We have a really pretty English vintage ring for you. We purchased it just before Christmas in a little country fair, from a lady dealer who was 90 years old, full of beans and loving her work! She was inspiring and her favourite gemstone was opal ! She said it was her first sale of the day, and she won't forget it, that it had made her day. Which made our day!

The ring is hallmarked with a Birmingham assay mark and "375" for English 9 karat gold. The hallmarks are tiny and hard to read, but the ring was made in the second half of the 20th century, in an old, Edwardian style. It is set with gorgeous, bright, natural opals, which look amazing with a backdrop of yellow gold. It is size US 6 7/8 or UK size N 3/4 and is re-sizeable. The opal set top of the ring measures 18.6 top to bottom by 10.3 side to side (with plain horizontal bars). Together with the chased, fluted shoulders the ring spreads 18.4 mm across your finger. It weighs 2.4 grams and is in super vintage condition.
