Tiny Antique Georgian Keepsake Enamel Diamond Lyre Charm Pendant

Have you ever seen anything so sweet? A heart melting, tiny Georgian treasure in gold, diamonds and enamel dating from around 1800!!

For the Georgians, the lyre was symbolic of heavenly devotion and strings of love, a connection between two hearts. It was often used as a token of romantic regard, as a secret message of heartfelt adoration. It was also associated with poetry, music and art, as well as soul's heavenly, forever journey in remembrance pieces.

This most darling Georgian lyre, in finest, intricate miniature is hand crafted in 9 karat yellow gold.It is not hallmarked, hence tested. We added a matching colour 9 karat gold bale, replacing the smaller, original one so that this pretty pendant could be worn on thicker, as well as thinner chains and be suspended from the dog clip of your favourite Albert chain. She is a little jewel made with fantastic attention to detail and mastery of the craft, not ever seen in modern jewellery. We just love this, the skill and effort that went into antique pieces is unmatched, and is especially endearing in tiny, miniature pieces like this one. 

This tiny little lyre is beautifully decorated with etched detail, set with bright and twinkly rose cut diamonds. We would like to point out that there are a couple of scratches to the surface of the royal blue enamel. You can see it clearly on our super magnified photos, which show the detail more than strong jewellers loupe, but this cannot be seen when worn, as the lyre is very, very tiny, and so are the little imperfections. Otherwise the pendant is in great antique condition. This tiny jewel measures 13.2 by 6.8 mm, while the total length of the pendant with the bale is 18.4 mm. It weighs 0.36 grams.
