Stunning Antique Victorian Hummingbird Feather Swan Locket Pendant

We have never had anything quite like this stunning, feathery beauty ! She reminds us of Victorian humming bird jewellery, rare to see and very highly collectable. The detailing is just amazing and the vivid colours of the exotic feathers are breathtaking. They display different colours as the pendant turns. It all looks rather magical, and is a true masterpiece ! Just imagine the hours this must have taken to carefully hand craft, the imagination and skill.

This jewel hails from 1870-1880 England. The feather display is on mother of pearl background, which glistens in pinks and greens. This adds a stunning depth to the feather picture of a graceful black and white swan, surrounded by exotic flowers and foliage.

She was originally a brooch, we had the original pin made into a bale, so all her components are 100% original and antique. The original hallmark, "15ct" is still on the bale, she is also hallmarked with the same stamp on the back. The brooch was also an opening locket, which has now been permanently shut to keep the feather display forever safe and intact. The top is covered with gorgeous, domed rock crystal, so her look is reminiscent of Essex crystal, except her display is feathers rather than painting. 

Her total length with the bale is 33.7mm. The main locket section measures 32.77 mm in width and 25.91 in length, while she has 8.32 mm depth. She weighs 11.5 grams and is in amazing antique condition, with a few tiny scratches to the surface of the rock crystal, which you can only notice in large magnification.
