Gorgeous Antique Victorian Celestial Diamond Star Pendant

This shining star, what a splendid Victorian celestial creation !
This gorgeous piece of Victorian era jewellery was hand crafted around 1880. As there are no hallmarks we had her tested. It is made in 14-15 karat gold at the back and is silver fronted. The gold has a gorgeous yellow one to it, with beautiful, antique patina. Both metals are tested as there is no hallmark. It was likely originally a brooch and possibly a part of a fabulous set. We added a 9 karat yellow gold bale, large enough for thicker chains as well as the dog clip of your Albert chain. The celestial theme was revered and very much in fashion, we still love them so today !
The star measures 30.4 mm top to bottom and 29 mm side to side. Her total length with the bale is 36.4 mm and she weighs 4.46 grams. It is beautifully set with an estimated 2.62 carats of wonderful old mine cut and some transitional cut diamonds. These were used from the 1920's to 1950's, and so it appears that they were a replacements for the original old mine cut diamonds. All the stones are brilliantly white with an enormous amount of sparkly fire, just like snow glittering in the winter sunshine! They are estimated to be G-H colour colour, VS to SI2 clarity. The silver setting with its antique patina lends a moody backdrop to the icy white of the diamonds. The pendant is in a fantastic antique condition. The chain is not included in the listing.
