Art Deco Garnet Seed Pearl Ring

This simple and elegant English garnet and pearl cluster ring is all about the Art Deco style and its beautiful, large garnet.

The emerald cut garnet measures 9.5 by 7.3 mm and is estimated to weigh 7.4 carats. It is a lovely, dark and sultry pyrope garnet. The stone has some small internal inclusions, that are typical of garnets - they are reassuring of the stone's authenticity. These are only visible with a strong jewellers loupe. We had the gem checked by an FGA qualified gemologist. The garnet is set in a lovely, finely mille grained setting done in sterling silver with 9 karat yellow gold shank. It is hallmarked with "9 CT & SIL" and was made around 1920 to 1930. The garnet is surrounded with tiny, creamy white and lustrous natural seed pearls, accentuating the geometric Art Deco design of the ring. The ring weighs 2.89 grams, its slim band is 1.75 mm wide and the ring sits 4.1 mm off the top of the finger. It is size US 7.5 or UK P and is easily re-sizeable up or down. Both the ring and the garnet are in excellent antique condition.
