Art Deco English Carved Amethyst 18K Gold Ring Dated 1934

When you think of the Art Deco period you will think of strong design, strong style and strong colours. Just have a look at the perfect example of it, our splendid ring here! The iconic pairing of deep saturated purple of the magnificent amethyst and steely colour of the white gold represents the pure perfection of this creative period. The design of the ring is just as stunning as its gem. Geometric, ordered and structured, with the flowing softness of the swirls in a simple, yet richly decorated shank - fabulous. The ring is a statement piece ! 

It dates to the 1934, assayed in Chester, England and is hand crafted entirely in 18 karat white gold, fully hallmarked. There are also maker's marks "KBSP", for Kinsey Brothers & Patrick". This company was registered as ring makers in 1897 and operated from Albion Street, Birmingham. The amethyst in the centre is a rich, strong purple in tone, flawless and beautifully carved into the stunning, fluted, so very Art Deco shape. It has flashes of purple and red, seen in the light of the camera flash, indicating a good quality gemstone. It measures 15.6 by 11.1 mm and 5.6 mm depth in its setting. The bezel setting is elegant in its simplicity, just perfect with the band, which is richly chaised all around. The ring weighs 3.8 grams. The amethyst is in perfect condition with no rubbing or scratches to report. The whole ring is in lovely vintage condition also. The ring is size US 7.5 or UK O 1/2 and is re-sizeable up or down, if you don't mind the pattern on the back of the band being not continuous. This will not show at all when worn.

Amethyst is a February Birthstone and a 6th and 33rd wedding anniversary gem. It is considered to be a stone of royalty, associated with power, wisdom, intuition and a deeper connection to the divine. It is fit for a princess !!
