Art Deco Carved No Heat Natural Burma Ruby Platinum Pendant Charm Dangler

A beautiful, carved natural, no heat Burma ruby drop pedant, a precious ruby flower for you ! 

The untreated, natural old Burmese rubies are getting rarer and more valuable with time. Unlike most modern stones, they are not enhanced in any way, which means they come out of the ground in their glory as they are - the rarest treasures of earth. Burma rubies are the best, priciest and most sought after of all. Ruby has long been highly prized as the king of jewels and regarded as a gem attracting love, passion, success and creativity. It is a Birthstone for July and a 40th wedding Anniversary gift.

Our pendant features the most gorgeous old mine cut, no heat natural Burma ruby. We had it verbally assessed by an FGA qualified gemologist. The ruby is a glorious, intense, vivid magenta colour only Burmese rubies can have. It measures 9.5 by 6.8 mm. Being carved, and therefore having an irregular drop shape, it is impossible to estimate its carat weight exactly, but it is in the region of 2.7- 3.00 carats in weight. 

The pendant is not hallmarked, it tests platinum including the bale, which is a replacement for a smaller one. It hails from around 1920 and is a lovely example of carved gemstone jewellery, fashionable in the Art Deco era. Its total length with the bale is 15.7 mm, it weighs 0.69 grams. The ruby has some natural inclusions, typical for this gemstone, but is in great condition with no chips or scratches. The pendant is in very good antique condition too.
