Art Deco Austrian Vienna Diamond Sapphire Dormeuse Earrings

Those darling earrings are sweet and charming sapphire and diamond dreams !

They were hand crafted in Austria around 1925-1930. They are hallmarked with "585" for 14 karat gold. There is also a hallmark "W" for Vienna and "4" confirming 14 karat gold fineness. These sweet little heart breakers are fashioned in a classic double gemstone dormeuse style design, with lever back secure fittings; with bright, white single cut diamonds at the top and round, natural sapphires at the bottom. Both are set in fine bezel settings, which are mille grained. The sapphires are vibrant and sparkly blue! 

The lever ear settings, our favourite, are called dormeuse, from the fact that they are so comfortable to wear, that you can sleep in them ! The earrings are also wonderfully flattering as they sit just underneath your ear lobe adding a great definition to your lovely face, longer than stud earrings but not danglers - they carry you beautifully from your busy day into the glamorous evening.

The sapphires in their settings measure 5.2 mm in diameter, estimated to weigh 0.70 carats together, the earrings total length is 15 mm. Together they weigh 1.96 grams, light and super comfortable to wear. Their antique condition is lovely.

We love ....... those dreamy Art Deco era earrings. We just cannot get over how adorable they are with their sentimental air of love and the something blue romance !
