Antique Victorian Opal Diamond Half Hoop Ring

At every turn of your hand and smallest change in lighting, she changes her colours and radiates her rainbow charm. She is gorgeous .... and she glows like she knows it !!

Her three spectacular gemstones are natural Australian opals, the finest artwork Mother Nature creates. The opals are of fine quality, with sublime colour play in all colours of the rainbow. The colours glow from acid greens to indigo blues and purples, to bright oranges and electric yellows, pinks and reds and even teal greens. All the colours you can think of in the loveliest, magical dance.

This glorious beauty dates back to around 1880-1890 England. Her setting in gentle, yellow gold has a graceful claw gallery and pretty shoulders. She is hallmarked with "18CT" for English 18 karat gold. The shape and design of the ring frame the opals perfectly, while the gorgeous trio of old mine cut diamonds on each side adds a bright sparkle to this classic look. The beautiful, bright and white diamonds are estimated to weigh a total of around 0.40 carats. The centre opal measures 8.2 x 6.1 mm, the side ones are 7.2 x 5.2 and 7.2 x 5.1 mm. The opals are in a fantastic condition, no chips, cracks or crazing. The ring has been looked after very well and clearly much loved. The setting with its twinkly diamonds are also in a lovely antique condition.

The top of the ring measures 8.9 mm north to south and the gem-set part is 20.3 mm wide across your finger. The ring sits 4.9 mm off the top of your finger and weighs 3.7 grams. She is a US size 8 1/4 or UK Q 1/2 and easily re-sizeable up or down.
