Antique Victorian Natural Pearl Diamond Horseshoe Pendant

Horseshoes have been a symbol of good luck for centuries. We hang horseshoes over our doors for good luck, wear them as good luck talismans and also to express our love for anything horsey!

Here is a late English Victorian beauty, studded elegantly with the most delicious, chunky, natural salt water split pearls. They are gorgeous - plump and lustrous, the colour of antique silk that acquired a hint of pinky, creamy, silvery moonlight over time. They are a lovely, large size too, measuring from 6.6 to 5.1 mm in diameter. They are all original and in absolutely lovely condition. Sprinkled among the pearls are sweet, twinkly rose cut diamonds, completing the magical look. 

She was hand crafted around 1880-1890, fashioned in 18 karat buttery yellow gold. She is not hallmarked and we had her tested. Originally a brooch, we had her pin fitting converted to a bale, so she has all her original components and can now be enjoyed as a pendant. Her bale can fit easily through the dog clips of your Albert chains, she can also be worn on pretty much any thickness of chain. The look of the chain will change her vibe, she will look classically romantic on a thinner chain, while edgy and chic on a thick gold or Albert chain. The horseshoe itself measures 32.3 by 27.9 mm and she is 38.9 mm long including the bale and hanging on diagonal, with 27.1 mm width in this position. She weighs 8.8 grams and is in lovely antique condition.

Pearl is a June birthstone and a 30th Wedding Anniversary gift. This pearly gorgeousness would make a wonderful "something old" on your wedding day, as pearls in Victorian era were, and traditionally still are the most popular wedding gem. With the most beautiful good luck wishes to boot !
