Antique Victorian Fancy 18 Inch 9K Gold Chain Necklace

This is the most amazing and intricate antique 9 karat yellow gold chain necklace. It dates from around 1890. We had never come across a chain link quite like that before - a square twisted design.

The chain is hallmarked with "9" for 9 karat English gold on the clasp, and the chain has additionally been tested to confirm the gold content. It is 18 inches long and weighs 6.06 grams. The links are 1.6 mm wide. It is a gorgeous rich yellow gold colour, looking more like 18 karat gold tone. This is due to her original, beautiful fire gilding which creates this dreamy patina over the years, stunning ! The necklace looks substantial enough to be worn alone and would make an absolutely lovely chain for your antique pendants. The lovely finishing touch is a smooth barrel clasp, which closes with a nice, secure snap. The necklace is in fantastic antique condition.
