She started her beautiful life as a pin made in the Continental Europe around 1880-1890. We removed the pin fitting and added a 9 karat gold bale in matching colour yellow gold. She is not hallmarked but her style and fantastic workmanship point to the Austro Hungarian Empire as her birth place. Made in 14 karat mellow, yellow gold she has a layer of silver over the top (both metals tested) providing a moody, charming setting for the gorgeous rose cut diamonds. She is a shimmering, sparkling beauty, throwing off a firework of precious light. The diamonds are beautifully white and clean and they are estimated to weigh 0.30 carats in total.
The butterfly is 12.8 mm long and 16.2 mm wide max. The total length of the pendant with the bale is 18.6 mm. The inner measurement of the bale is 4.25 mm, so it will fit the dog clips of the Albert chain comfortably. She looks equally graceful and stunning on a fine platinum chain as well as the chunky Albert chain necklace. You can easily change the vibe of this fabulous jewel by matching her up with different chains. We include some photos of her suspended from our ERA snake connector, available in a separate listing for even more charming effect ! She weighs 1.6 grams and is in lovely antique condition.
