Antique Victorian 9K Gold Turquoise Heart Keepsake Locket

What a sweet Victorian heart locket ! She is beautifully shaped and truly delightful, like a whisper of loving sentiment that she represents.

We just adore turquoise, and find it such a magical stone, with vibrant and rich blue. It is pleasing to the eye, soothing to the soul and uplifting for your spirit... we hope you feel the same way! It is said, that turquoise is wonderful for balancing and aligning chakras for a calming effect. It has long been believed to protect from negative energy and considered a holy stone, and one that brings good fortune. It is a December Birthstone, lucky, lucky Capricorns !!

This keepsake heart locket hails from Victorian England of around 1860-1870. It is not hallmarked and tests 9 karat gold. The gold is sweet, mellow yellow, making the bright turquoise gems stand out beautifully. Both front and back feature lovely, floral engravings. Six bright blue natural turquoise stones are set on the edge of the front of the locket. In Victorian times turquoise was a symbol of 'remember me by' message as it shares the colour of the Forget-Me-Not flower. The inside of the locket has a lock of brown hair behind a faceted glass, someone dear to the wearer of this lovely gem.

This dainty piece weighs 1.8 grams. The heart measures 13.6 by 12.2 mm, while the total length of the locket with the bale is 20.1 mm. The locket shuts securely and is in lovely antique condition.
