Antique Victorian 15.2 Inch 58.7 Grams Solid Silver Albert Chain Necklace

This solid sterling silver chunky Albert chain was used as a gentelman's watch chain when first made in England around 1890-1900. It has a lovely English Lion Passant marks on one side of each link confirming it is solid sterling silver and a maker"s mark "CDB". The dog clip and T bar bear maker"s marks "SS". There is a silver medallion as well, hallmarked with the English Lion Passant, Birmingham mark and maker"s mark "DD&Co"

This lovely chain is now fashionably repurposed as a fantastic necklace worn by itself or with your pendants and charms. You can wear it hallmarks up or choose the smooth side to show for a different look. The chain is solid and heavy at 58.7 grams and looks and feels smooth and truly luxurious. The colour of the antique sterling silver is wonderful, as is the condition of this stunning necklace. The links are wide too, graduating from a fantastic 8.3 mm down to 5.7 mm in width. The T bar chain is 6 mm wide. This chain is 15.2 inches long, including the dog clip. If you would rather not have the pendant attached to the chain we could have it taken off for you. The necklace looks gorgeous on its own, while the mellow silver colour will look wonderful mixed with yellow or rose gold chains and pendants too. This chain is so fantastically versatile !
