Antique Solid 9K Rose Gold 15.5 Inch Paperclip Albert Chain Necklace

This lovely antique Albert chain in lush, solid rose gold - smooth, ever so gently kissed by time and near one and a half century of love - it has a beautiful feel to it and a gorgeous patina. 

The luxurious richness of the mellow rose gold of this chain is fantastic. The paperclip link is simple and elegant, fancy but not frilly at the same time. Gorgeous !! It is hallmarked with "9" and ".375" on each small and long link, as well as the two dog clips and the T-Bar, for 9 karat English gold. The T bar also features Birmingham assay mark. There are also maker's mark "B&S" on the T-bar and one of the dog clips, likely for B H Britton & Sons. The second dog clip is stamped with "C&F.Ld", a replacement for the original one, matching really well with the colour of rose gold and age wise. 

She was made in England, around 1900-1910, the Edwardian period. The links consist of streamlined, rounded and gently curved, elongated sections interspersed with smaller oval ones, very attractive ! She is a lovely, solid gold lady, weighing 30.7 grams and is 15.5 inches long. The links measure 6 mm in width. She is a good quality necklace and looks stunning worn alone or layered with other chains, please see our photos for inspiration. She has an elegant, interesting look, great, opulent weight and fine detail afforded by wonderful and skilful craftsmanship. In very good antique condition.
