Antique Scottish 9 K Gold Axe Hammer Articulated Charm

This charm takes us to the Bonny Scotland, specifically the Highland games, where one of the sporting events is axe throwing !

This lovely, small axe, or hammer charm is particularly cute as it is articulated ! It is made in 9 karat yellow gold, tested, as the charm is not hallmarked. Made around 1880, it features a lovely red agate. The agate part measures 15.9 by 6.4 mm max, while the total length of the charm with the bale is 24.4 mm. It weighs a dainty 0.5 grams. Save for a couple of very insignificant nibbles on the edge of the agate, the charm is in lovely antique condition.
