Antique Georgian Old Mine Cut Diamond Half Hoop Ring With Natural Pink Diamond
The Georgian era diamond half hoop stacking ring........they are so in demand and so rare to find. There is something so fantastically special about this one ! Her shape is pleasing to the eye, so smooth to the touch, her diamonds completely enchanting, including one natural pink diamond !
She is European in origin, tests as 14 carat gold with silver settings for the diamonds. There are no hallmarks there, but she has been gently acid tested. She was hand crafted in Continental Europe in the first half of the 19th Century, around 1810-1820. Her old mine cut diamonds are chunky and delicious, featuring large tables and culets typical of the very early diamonds, all moody and sparkling gently in their antique silver settings. All are slightly different in shape and they vary in colour and clarity a little too. They are of the soft shades of moonlight grey, silvery and coppery tones, so typical of the Georgian times. The pink diamond is a real cherry on this gorgeous cake !! The total estimated weight of all those beautiful, early stones is minimum of 1.36 carats. It is her unique charm that pulls at your heart strings, each stone hand cut to be at its best by the candle light. She sits beautifully low and flush to the hand and as she is ultra smooth, feels like a velvet glove. She is infinitely more beautiful in real life than the photos.
She spreads 19.9 mm across your finger and is 3.3 mm wide. It weighs 2 grams exactly and is in lovely antique condition.
She is a US size 5 7/8 (UK L 1/2- L 3/4), perhaps US 6 ( UK M). It is not possible to estimate it exactly on the sizing mandrel due to her shape. She can be re-sized a little. The original joint marks on the inside of the band are visible with strong magnification, which you can see in our photos. Wonderful as an engagement ring, she also makes a fabulous stacking companion, and will look stunning in any combination of rings.
