Beautiful Georgian jewelled objects of art, long lost skill and sublime beauty ... we wish everyone in the world could collect them, but we know how much enjoyment it is to wear beautiful jewellery. So, we rescued a single Georgian shoe buckle and re-imagined it into a gorgeous, wearable, cool bracelet. We love it ! Just imagine wearing something this stunning on your shoe !!!
The buckle was hand crafted around 1780 in silver and set with wonderful, beautifully cut and matched flat cut garnets. The garnets are truly amazing, intense and vivid, deep red colour. The photos do not do them justice, in real life they are electric ! These beautiful gems are foil set in closed back settings. The curve and smoothness is the main feature of the whole design; from the curvy shape to the rounded, silver back - and then the contrast of the square cut gems - genius !
We had our wonderful jeweller make two silver loops to hold the ribbon, that you will tie up at the back to hold the garnet top in place. Here, you can get creative and have fun! Use a multitude of ribbons, match them to your outfits, use silk, velvet, lace, anything you like ! The bracelet comes with the velvet magenta ribbon in our photos. The garnet set part measures 57 mm side to side and 43.6 mm top to bottom. The thickness of the garnet settings is 4.8 mm. The bracelet weighs 16 grams and is in wonderful antique condition.
