Antique Georgian 9K Yellow Gold Split Ring Chain Connector
Split rings were used in Georgian and Victorian times for securely suspending pendants, and pocket watches. They have a very precise, fine mechanism for opening the split in the ring, allowing the pendant bale to go through, which then closes securely - similar in principle to a modern key chain.
This sweet, little English split ring is hand crafted in 9 karat mellow, yellow gold, not hallmarked, hence tested. The lovely, deep floral engraving is typical of the 1820's Regency style decorations. It is finely executed, a high quality Georgian item. The split ring is in great condition and fully functional, with its closing mechanism working well. It is in lovely antique condition.
The outer diameter measurement of the ring is 9.26 mm, and his thickness is 1.2 mm, with the weight of 0.38 grams. Absolute Georgian beauty in miniature.
We love .... this lovely, versatile, pretty antique helper for your beautiful pendants and charms.
