Antique Georgian 9K Rose Gold Faceted Split Ring Chain Connector

Split rings were used in Georgian and Victorian times for securely suspending pendants and fobs as well as pocket watches. They have a very precise, fine mechanism for opening the split in the ring to allow the pendant bale go through, which then closes securely - similar in principle to a modern key chain. 

This little English Georgian split ring is made in 9 karat rose gold, not hallmarked, hence tested. Smaller than the usual split rings, it is super useful for pendants with a bale too small to go through the clasps of your chains. The mellow rose gold would go equally well with rose gold chains or pendants, as yellow gold ones. Tt blends with different tones of gold very well. Smooth and plain is another attribute to its versatility. 

The outer diameter measurement of the ring is 11.8 mm and his thickness is 1.1 mm, with the weight of 0.5 grams. In lovely antique condition.
