Antique French Rose Cut Diamond Dormeuse 18K Gold Earrings

Their design is classic, versatile and flattering, sitting just under your earlobe. They are timeless and frame your beautiful face in a gorgeous way. The ear settings are our favourite, called dormeuse from the fact that they are so comfortable to wear, that you can sleep in them ! Rose cut diamond dormeuse's are incredibly desirable and sought after. You will never stop loving them. 

These Victorian era dormeuse earrings have a closure at the front, meaning you put your earrings on from the back of your ear lobe. They date from around 1890. Their design is typically French, with lacy coronet setting for the diamonds, made in glowing 18 karat yellow gold. They are hallmarked with French Eagle mark for 18 karat gold with an additional mark that is not legible. The collets measure 6.4 by 6.1 mm, just slightly longer than wider for the perfect look and proportion. The earrings total length is 13.6 mm. Together they weigh 1.81 grams, light and super comfortable to wear. Their antique condition is very good. 

The stones in the drops are bright and sparkly rose cut diamonds, estimated to weigh 0.10 carats each. They are foil set. Their very small inclusions are visible with the very strong jewellers loupe only. 

We love...... those sweet antique earrings!! The best thing ever is how wonderfully feminine and wearable they are, truly, the earrings for all occasions.
